I had purchased 5 day old cock's from Mannuthy farm i was charged less as it was cock and not hen.Day old hen were charged Rs19/- at the time while day old cock was only Rs6/-, one died in infancy rest grew up to become 2cock's and 2 hen.

Please note male chick is also called a cockerel while female chick is called pullet.
