To create a VPN and use if from elsewhere

I happened to stumble on an article which mentioned that VPN's are not just for the Corporates. It is even possible to create one for individuals.

With virtualisation and cloud etc it would be a good idea to have a Infrastructure cloud at home to experiment.e

VPN access seem to be good.
